Hi all,

 

Im new to this whole IR Blaster possibilities and hopefully ive choosen the correct product for what i need.

Essentially i just want to control my set top box from another room.

Im have purchased the FLEX IP iTach device and connected that up to my LAN.

Using ILearn ver 2.6 i was able to connect to the device and also program the IR code from my remote.

Ive purchase the roomie remote software for my iphone.

When i add my set top box to the list of devices and try to control it, a messages pops up saying i need to purchase the IR device from roomie yet i already purchased it?

The roomie app definitely works as it can access my IP based amplifier just not the itach device.

  Do i need to submit a ticket to get support for this product or are these forums moderated by globalcache?

  Lee,

   

  Within the Roomie Remote App when you set up the Set Top Box did the App display and allow you to choose the Flex unit?

  Hi Mike,

   

  There is nothing wrong with my configuration or setup. From reading your fine print it looks like i need to purchase another iphone app to get this to work with my itach device? 

  This to me would indicate that the IR device you advertise on your web site is incapable of functioning without additional purchases made from another website (which are an ongoing cost).

  I hope im wrong ?

  Lee,

   

  Global Cache produces the Hardware that is needed to work with a Control Application such as Roomie Remote in order to control your equipment via the network. I believe what is needed is a module from Roomie Remote for IR control. You have all the hardware needed (iTach Flex) to control your equipment if the Roomie App is stating that you need another piece it would be part of the Application, I would contact Roomie Remote to ask them why you are getting this Dialog window when trying to control your equipment.

  HI Mike,

   

  Thanks for your response. I had already purchase the roomie application but now they are requesting an ongoing service fee which im not prepared to pay.

   

  Could advise what other software or other device i can use to control the IR device?

  Thanks Mike, im sure this will get me out of the predicament. Sorry i got the impression that Global Cache and Roomie were sister companies and that was the product i needed to purchase. 

  Ill do some more research.
