iLearn remote code issues

You must get quite bored reading the same complaints over and over. I, like others have failed to have my Global Cache WF2IR (recently purchased about 1 month ago) to recognize remote codes. I am currently using iRule software and on that side of things everything is fine. In addition, I have no issues with the WF2IR being recognized as a gateway, linking with my router, etc...it's the final step that is the hurdle. To that end I see a few possibilities:

1. The remote codes are wrong.

2. The IR emitter is not close enough to the receiver to be detected.

3. The IR eye in the WF2IR unit is faulty.

The unit in question is a preamplifier. This preamp is an audiophile unit and the remote codes are not published anywhere. I have contacted the manufacturer and that is what they stated. However, the remote is rather simple (and the codes can be learned using an IR learning device). It has only 12 functions: Power, Mute, Volume Up, Volume Down, Balance Left, Balance Right, Input 1, Input 2, Input 3, Input 4, Input 5, and Input 6.

The stock remote of course works perfectly (even if you fire up at the ceiling). When the IR emitter is plugged into the 1st connector, with the distal end literally right in front of the receiver, and I press "Send IR" command, the green LED lights up on the WF2IR, and the red LED at the distal end of the emitter lights up as well. But the preamplifier, does not turn on. I am using iLearn on a Windows XP Laptop. The various other parameters are set as follows:

Module, Offset, Repeat, Connector, and Lines (IR Data) :1;

New Line 300, Ending value: 100ms.

IR Learner: Itach Learner

Itach version: 710-1001-05

Increasing the Lines/IR Data does nothing. Dropping the Ending value to below 100msec (and as low as 20 msec) does nothing.

Here is the remote data. Note that the 1st line of each combo is the Global Cache code, and the next set of lines are the HEX data which is required by the IRule software (and only the HEX data has been inputed in the IR builder):

In addition, I would like to add that I did try the IR blaster unit (the one with the Blue LED) connected to the 3rd jack. I also switched the connector input on the iLearn software to 3. However, not only did this not work, but the Blue LED did not flash (although the green LED on the WF2IR did). I figure I have a faulty IR blaster. There is plenty of room for the IR unit to "blast." It's a 5 ft X 8 ft X 10 ft equipment room and IR blaster unit was placed at least a few feet away.

Hi Anand,

The blaster does not light up when in use. When you put the blaster in Port3, did you configure port3 for blaster use in the web interface? If not, the blaster will not receive enough power to function correctly.

Josh, I e-mailed the manufacturer and although he doesn't have the HEX codes we need, he had some 'binary' codes of the receiver within the preamplifier itself. There are 3 bytes of info sent plus before the bytes is a start of transmission sequence with a couple bits including one long pulse. . The MSB is one then follows the code then another byte that I don't use so I don't have the value handy. Good luck and keep me posted if I can help at all. I've found reference to the fact that some of Bent's pre-amps 'think they are a Daewoo TV' The codes here may be worth trying. http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/codes/daewoo/inctec/

That was true for the old Bent Remotes, not the new ones.
