Pioneer VSX power ir code

Ive been trying to learn a power ir code from the original Pioneer VSX40 remote to no avail.

Im not a big tech guy but Ive been programming URC, Logitech, Bitwise and Pronto for almost 5 years. This is my first time using any GC product. And although its been pretty straight forward programming with DemoPad, this power code has been a nightmaire for a while now.

I used iTest to convert a HEX code I downloaded from pioneercustom, but even converting from HEX is been useless. My guess is Pioneer codes have some tricky configuration I have not been able to find yet.

Anyone that can help me out with this ? (or anyone that has the GC code for the power button? )

  When capturing a command, you will want to make sure that it works properly as captured. To do so, you will want to use the device with which you are learning the command to test the command immediately with the "Send IR" button of iLearn. If your command doesn't work, you will want to increment the Gaps setting in the top right area (which contains the parameters) before you save, trim or test the command. This setting controls how many lines of data are highlighted, which controls how much data is saved and subsequently sent.

  Same problem here with my Pioneer VSX. 

  Josh, I don't see a Gaps setting in the iLearn app, only offset. And when I start experimenting with these, iLearn just hangs (I'm using Windows 8.1).

  OK, did some tweaking with Lines, and it worked once with iLearn on my Pioneer VSX-S500. However, iLearn became "not responding" soon afterwards. This happened on a windows 7 machine too, even with ethernet connection. Quite frustrating...

  I think iTach is a great product, but the tooling should definitely be improved.

  It probably has to do with out of bounds checking or something.

  It usually happens when the number in de lines field is bigger than the actual # of lines displayed in the edit view.

  I know this is kind of old, but hopefully this will help someone.  You can find spreadsheets with IR hex codes for pioneer receivers here.  Then use iConvert to get them into GC form.

  Thanks Mark. Unfortunately, my VSX-S500 is not in the list. :(

  It looks like that model wasn't sold in the US.  You could always try the current codes and see what happens.  Maybe you'll get lucky and they work.  Pioneer uses the same codes across all of their models in the US and they don't change them year to year.  Power on for the 2012 models is the same as the 2013 models.  They just add new codes for new features.  Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help.
